On Cosmological Constant in Causal Set Theory
نویسنده
چکیده
Resolution of the cosmological constant problem based on Causal Set theory is discussed. It is argued that one should not observe any spacetime variations in Λ if Causal Set approach is correct. It’s been known since late 1990’s that expansion of our Universe appears to be accelerating. [1] The most commonly agreed upon explanation of this expansion is a small but non-zero cosmological constant. The cosmological constant, Λ, appears as an additional term in Einstein’s field quations: Rαβ − 1 2 Rgαβ + Λgαβ = κTαβ

Bulk Viscous Bianchi Type VI0 Cosmological Model in the Self-creation Theory of Gravitation and in the General Theory of Relativity
In the second self-creation theory of gravitation and in the general theory of relativity, Bianchi type VI0 cosmological model in the presence of viscous fluid is studied. An exact solution of the field equations is given by considering the cosmological model yields a constant decelerations parameter q=constant and the coefficients of the metric are taken as A(t)=[c1t+c<su...
متن کاملCausal Sets: Discrete Gravity
It seems fair to say that causal set theory has reached a stage in which questions of phenomenology are beginning to be addressed meaningfully. This welcome development is due on one hand to improved astronomical observations which shed light on the magnitude of the cosmological constant (in apparent confirmation of a long-standing prediction of the theory) and on the other hand to theoretical ...
متن کاملAxiomatic approach to the cosmological constant
A theory of the cosmological constant Λ is currently out of reach. Still, one can start from a set of axioms that describe the most desirable properties a cosmological constant should have. This can be seen in certain analogy to the Khinchin axioms in information theory, which fix the most desirable properties an information measure should have and that ultimately lead to the Shannon entropy as...
متن کاملCausal loop quantum cosmology in momentum space
We shall show that it is possible to make a causal interpretation of loop quantum cosmology using the momentum as the dynamical variable. We shall show that one can derive Bohmian trajectories. For a sample cosmological solution with cosmological constant, the trajectory is plotted.
متن کاملQuantum Gravity Resolution to the Cosmological Constant Problem
A finite quantum gravity theory is used to resolve the cosmological constant problem. A fundamental quantum gravity scale, ΛG ≤ 10 −3 eV, is introduced above which the quantum corrections to the vacuum energy density coupled to gravity are exponentially suppressed by a graviton vertex form factor, yielding an observationally acceptable value for the particle physics contribution to the cosmolog...
